a little about me!
(Me circa 2013 for Taylor Swift’s Red Tour)
Hello!
Thank you for visiting my blog. Let’s get to know each other!
I grew up watching a lot of TV and movies. Rom-coms are my jam. My favorite movies are She’s the Man (so quotable) and Pride & Prejudice (my rainy day movie), but I think I got my wanderlust from The Lizzie McGuire Movie as well as all of the Mary Kate & Ashley movies. I made my teacher play the Roman history video three times in class because I loved Rome so much (especially after The Lizzie McGuire Movie [do yourself a favor and listen to the soundtrack too]).
I was lucky in that my parents brought me on a big vacation every 5 years. I don’t have a great memory, so I don’t remember much. I know we went on a trip to Disney World in Florida (I think I was 6 or 7), but all I really remember is that I went on a safari there (giraffes are my favorite!). When we went to Hawaii when I was in middle school, I was attacked my a dolphin at the place they filmed 50 First Dates. We were swimming with them and it kicked me really hard when it swam away. I know it probably didn’t mean to, but thank goodness I had on a life jacket because I could barely move my legs for a couple minutes afterwards!
In 4th grade, my aunt took me all over the East Coast including Canada! We flew into New York (my first trip to the Big Apple) and stayed with some of her friends. We didn’t get to see a Broadway show on that trip, but we still got to explore a lot of the city! Then we drove to Pennsylvania to visit my mom’s side of the family. They had a giant backyard with a stream in it. We learned how to play Phase 10 (I don’t remember how now) and I remember jumping off a rock or tree stump multiple times. Then we went to Vermont for my cousin’s graduation (so green there) and I had my first taste of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (Chocolate Fudge Brownie is still my favorite). After the graduation, we went to Montreal and saw all the animals in the Biodome and also a cute dog in a rain jacket on the streets.
We also went camping for family reunions every year. I’m not great at socializing, but I always looked forward to being near everyone.
I am a theatre kid. I have done many community theatre productions (as well as all the productions in high school), and New York is one of my favorite places. I travelled there for my 16th birthday just to see Legally Blonde the Musical! I was ready to revolt and boycott the show if my favorite contestant from MTV’s Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for the Next Elle Woods didn’t win (she did) and hyperventilated when I saw the actor who played Warner Huntington III in the alley by the theatre between shows. I also waited by the stage door after my matinee performance to get as many signatures as I could and went back after the evening performance because Bailey (Elle Woods) didn’t come out the first time. If I had unlimited funds, I would definitely take a trip there every year to see all of the shows on Broadway. Luckily, a lot of the new productions come to Los Angeles!
I am also a Swiftie. I have seen all but the Fearless Tour, and I travelled for a lot of them! Speak Now (LA), Red (LA), 1989 (Nashville), Reputation (Nashville), Eras Tour (LA x3 & London later this month & countless times streaming on my computer). She just crafts these beautiful words that root in your brain and help your life make sense. There is a Taylor Swift song for every occasion. Her shows are also so cool with all of the costume changes and dancers and set pieces and props. Very theatrical.
There is probably more to who I am, but I can’t think of it right now and it will probably come out piece by piece through the blog. This was a little random, but so is my brain.
Thanks for reading!
